We recently held an upcycling workshop in collaboration with TikTok sensation and DIY fashion expert Ege Nohut, where participants learned how to turn their old clothes into fashionable new ones. The goal was to show that fashion can be sustainable and stylish at the same time, and we had a blast!
Ege Nohut brought his creativity and expertise to the workshop, teaching participants how to customize and repair their clothing items. Participants repurposed their old clothes into something new and exciting using various tools and techniques, including our embroidery and heat press machines and Ege’s own mini sewing machine.
One of the participants brought in an old t-shirt that she had received at a work event. With Ege's help, she added some embroidery and patches, transforming it into a cool new top that she couldn't wait to wear. "I'm so excited to have learned how to upcycle clothes!" she exclaimed. "Now, I can turn all my old clothes into something new and fresh, and I don't have to spend a fortune on new clothes."
At Reflect Studio, we believe that upcycling is the future of fashion. Instead of buying new clothes, we can repurpose our old ones, reducing our carbon footprint and keeping clothing out of landfills. Making fashion more sustainable is important to us, and upcycling is a fun and creative way to do it.
But the workshop wasn't just about sustainability. It was also a fun and creative event, where participants could express their individual styles and personality. By upcycling their own clothes, they created unique pieces that no one else had. The event was a celebration of creativity, self-expression, and sustainability.
We plan to hold more upcycling workshops in the future in collaboration with different names. We're passionate about finding ways to make fashion more sustainable, and upcycling is just one way to do it.
