At Reflect Studio, we constantly push the boundaries of what sustainability can look like. Our latest collaboration with Again Project takes this philosophy to a whole new level. This initiative, aptly named REGAIN, is a celebration of upcycling, creativity, and what we call #NextSustainability.
Reimagining the Past
The sustainability-focused Again Project stands alongside brands to draw attention to the cycle and transformation of materials, making a call to address one of the most critical issues of our time. Collaborating with brands that prioritize sustainability, the project seeks creative ways to tell the stories of sustainability, zero waste, and circularity, highlighting their meaning in different forms and narratives.
We started by revisiting our Fall/Winter 2022 collection, specifically defaulted and second-quality pieces that were dismissed. Instead of letting these garments go to waste, we handed them to Sena Sakarya, the visionary founder of Again Project. Sena didn’t just rework these items—she dismantled them, reimagined their potential, and worked her magic. The result? A singular, one-of-a-kind look that’s as innovative as it is expressive.
The REGAIN collection consists of five standout pieces: pants, hoodie, scarf, vest, and coat. But don’t let the names fool you; these pieces defy conventions. The pants, for instance, are designed with a double-layer construction—perfect for those moments when life expands unexpectedly. The vest and coat, though strong individually, function as a duo that’s greater together. The hoodie? It features playful, corded details that resemble braided textures, doubling as a built-in accessory. And then there’s the Yves blue puffer scarf—a color so rich, you’ll want to wrap yourself in it forever. Together, these elements create a signature look that’s as functional as it is artistic.
What Sustainability Means at Reflect Studio
At Reflect Studio, sustainability isn’t just a checklist of practices; it’s a mindset. We call it #NextSustainability—a dynamic approach to viewing sustainability as a spectrum. While fair production standards, environmentally friendly methods, and certified fabrics form the foundation of our work, we believe there’s more to be done. Collaborating with initiatives like Again Project, embracing upcycling, and exploring repair culture are crucial steps forward.
For this collaboration, we asked ourselves:
How can we save our own production leftovers?
Is creating new garments from deadstock or leftover fabric more eco-friendly than producing a new organic cotton tee?
Can textile waste be reimagined into something functional and beautiful?
Sena Sakarya’s vision aligns perfectly with these questions. By upcycling pieces that were once disregarded, REGAIN showcases how creativity can turn waste into wearable art. This isn’t just about sustainability—it’s about redefining value.
